A New Spring Tradition…The Maumee River Fest

The City of Maumee has teamed with Maumee Tackle Fishing Outfitters, Run Toledo, The Maumee Chamber of Commerce, and the Maumee Uptown Business Association to launch a brand-new spring tradition: the Maumee River Fest, taking place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Uptown Maumee.

This unique celebration brings together three signature elements: community fun, a fishing tournament weigh-in, and the debut of the Walleye Run 5K, all inspired by the energy and excitement of the annual Walleye Run on the Maumee River. From families and festival-goers to anglers and runners, the Maumee River Fest is designed to offer something for everyone.

Community Fun & Family Activities: Uptown Maumee will host a lively mix of food trucks, local vendors, kids’ crafts and activities, and DORA beverages.

Fishing Tournament hosted by Maumee Tackle (104 W. Wayne St.): A highlight for anglers, with fishing beginning at sunrise. The official weigh-in will take place at 3:00 PM, giving spectators a front-row look at the excitement of the Walleye Run. The First-Ever Walleye Run 5K & Mini-Races: The festival will also introduce the Walleye Run 5K, a new race weaving through the streets of Maumee. Also, don’t miss the Wader Waddle, where full fishing waders are required for these runners in a quarter-mile sprint down Conant Street. Finally, the Minnow Run, offers kid-friendly race for our younger runners.
