  • RACE DAY QUESTIONS

This really depends on your race morning ritual. We do suggest to plan to arrive and park an hour before the event to give yourself plenty of time to pick up your bib if you still need to, warm up and use the restroom.

Be sure to bring your race bib if you picked it up early and wear it on the front of your outermost layer of clothing. You probably will also want running shoes (unless barefoot is your thing), sunglasses, a handheld water if you want and excitement to run.

Dave's Turkey Chase has a common start and finish meaning the start line and the finish line are in the same place. This is on Summit Street in Downtown Toledo right in front of the Glass City Center.

On race day some of the roads may be shut down. We recommend planning to park in one of the parking garages located on the map on the course guide page.

  • COURSE QUESTIONS

The course is a 5k which puts it at 3.1 miles through the heart of downtown Toledo.

As of the 2026 running, this course is not certified.

There are two water stops on the course. Around mile one and mile three.

Absolutely. We have a generous 90 minute course limit which comes to about 21 minutes per mile. Kids who are at least 6 years old on race day can register and their younger siblings can ride along in a stroller.

PLEASE!!! Every year more and more people come dressed as Turkey's, Drumsticks, and more to run the race. It only adds to the excitement.

  • AWARDS & COMPETITION QUESTIONS

Yes, we have overall awards as well as age group awards for the Top 3 finishers in each age group. The best part is that the award is a Schmucker's pie for you to have later in the day.

Yes. The top 3 finishers in each 5 year age category win an award.

  • WEATHER QUESTIONS

We get wet. We will not cancel or delay the event in the case of rain.

We will work with our local meteorologists and delay 30 minutes. We will also communicate with our law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe course. All information will be communicated clearly by race staff and volunteers during the event and also via email and text message updates.

We have never had to reschedule or cancel an event due to snow or rain. Before making any decisions we would consult with our medical director. We have added additional water stops on the course and will encourage participants to slow down.

  • DOWNTOWN TOLEDO QUESTIONS

With the race being on Thanksgiving day there will be select restaurants and businesses open that day. If you are going to stay downtown and eat post race please verify if the business or restaurant is open as it will be a case by case scenario dependent on the owners.

After the race is the best time to get your entire family together and start in on carving that Turkey or watching the football game.

We think so! There are multiple hotels within walking distance of the starting line and it is a perfect chance to get your entire family together and reconnect.

  • EVENT TRADITION QUESTIONS

Toledo Jeep® Fest is a weekend event. Starting on Friday with the beginning of Jeep® Fest there will be a lot going on every day up to the run. If you are a Jeep enthusiast it is a great chance to connect with other Jeep owner's and enthusiasts.

The Toledo Jeep® Fest 4-Miler course is mainly downtown Toledo and comes with a music stop, cheering stations, water/aid stations, along with an amazing view. We think our participants, volunteers and staff are what make this race unique.
