Hollywood Casino 5K Raises $1K for Mental Health
The inaugural Hollywood Casino 5K, produced by Run Toledo and hosted by Hollywood Casino Toledo, successfully crossed its first finish line this past June, marking a significant new chapter for the Northwest Ohio running community. More than 500 participants gathered for the debut event, which combined a premier racing experience with a meaningful commitment to local philanthropy.
The true impact of the event extends far beyond the timing mats. Run Toledo is proud to announce a donation of $1,000 to The Zepf Center, the event’s designated charitable benefactor. For decades, The Zepf Center has provided vital behavioral health, mental health, and substance use recovery services, and this donation supports their mission of building a healthier, more resilient Northwest Ohio.
The Friday night race began at the Hollywood Casino porte-cochère, continued through Rossford, and concluded at the Casino’s East lot. The event included a post-race celebration featuring food and music for participants and their families.
“The finish line is just the beginning of the positive impact we create together,” said Clint McCormick, Race Director at Run Toledo. “Events like the Hollywood Casino 5K remind us that road races are about bringing people together and giving back to the community we call home.”
