WELCOMING FOR NEWBIES • COMPETITIVE FOR SEASONED ATHLETES

Multi-sport events offer individuals the opportunity to participate in a test of their fitness level by completing a combination of two or three disciplines during a single race. The common terms for these events are duathlon, triathlon and aquabike. We give first-timers, beginners and experienced athletes the option to compete in any one of these at various dates throughout the season.

Our duathlons consist of running first, transitioning to a bike ride, then finishing up with another run. Triathlons begin with a swim, then a bike ride, transitioning into a run to finish. Our aquabike event is a swim, followed by a bike ride to the finish.

Each of these options are setup to be inviting to individuals of all ages and abilities, as well as challenging for seasoned multi-sport athletes.

We offer super sprint, sprint and olympic distances duathlons, triathlons and an aquabike. Sprint distances typically begin with a one mile run, thirteen mile bike ride, and finish with a 5k run. They vary depending on the location and course, but tend to be roughly these distances at each. Triathlon swims vary in distance from 200 to 400 or 1600 meters, with olympic distance runs of 3 miles and 10k respectively.

Kickoff spring by participating in the Dooby Du Duathlon and SouthFork Duathlon for a sprint distance run, bike, run. Practice your transitions between running and biking without any pressure at these low-key, early season events.

New to our mid-season stable of races is the Whitehouse Multi-sport Festival, filled with a lot of action. The energy at this event will inspire you to your best effort for sure.

Trillium is a women’s only triathlon, duathlon and 5k event with a unique swim and plenty of moral support from start to finish. Closing out the season are our longest running events — Sylvania SuperKids (for ages 6-15) and Sylvania Triathlon, Duathlon & Aquabike; one of the oldest multi-sport events in the country.

Whichever one of these you choose to tri or du, you’ll be happy with yourself that you did.

FAQ: The Quarry Ridge and Clark Lake triathlons and duathlons have been retired in order to focus attention on making your experiences even more enjoyable at the highly popular Whitehouse Multi-sport Festival, Trillium and Sylvania events.
